Project 1- Stamp
For my first project of the year, I don't think I did too bad. It was definitely difficult at times, namely hollowing out the bottom section of the crescent moon without breaking it, and I initially tried to make a more complex design before realizing how difficult it actually was. I'm happy with how smooth I was able to get the handle and main piece to look. If I could do this project again, I would spend more time perfecting the stamp design, and just smoothing out that area in general. Overall, it was an extremely fun experience, and I'm looking forward to my next project.
Project 2- Face/Expression
This is as far as my face project got before it was recycled. I enjoyed the process of examining and trying to recreate real faces, and i was really able to practice slipping and scoring and just generally shaping the clay. I decided to stop working on this project at this point because I realized just how far beyond my skill level this was, and I didn't really love the project enough to keep working on it. If I could redo it, I would spend some more time shaping the general structure of the face, especially around the forehead.

Project 3- Painting With Underglaze
This was probably my favorite project to do so far. I loved drawing out the design i wanted, perfecting the circle, and painting it with the underglaze. If i could do it again I would definitely spend more time making sure I put on enough coats of underglaze the first time, as I had to go back and repaint it once I got it back, and by then I was rushing through to complete this, make the rest of the pinch pots, and start the small animal sculpture. Going into this project I was way too ambitious- I was going to make a cup at first- and I'm glad I was able to realize that was too difficult of a project for me to start at the time.
Project 4- Pinch Pots
inspiration:
I got a LOT of wedging and pinchpot making done this project. Most of the pinchpots I made never made it to the kiln- I just wasnt satisfied with how they turned out, or I didnt know what to do with them. The one that did make it to the kiln, however, I'm very happy with. If I could redo this project, I would spend more time completely smoothing out the clay before firing it, as it turned out pretty lumpy with small cracks in some areas, and I would spend more time colormatching the underglaze, I would especially lighten the pink, as I didn't realize how much it would darken in the kiln. I'm happy with how even the underglaze is, the way that the lid fits, and how well I got the general shape of the box. Overall I'd consider this project a success.

Project 5- Relief Tile
I'm not happy with how this project turned out. I had a good plan, and a good start, but I rushed the carving process way too much, and the glaze didn't turn out like I hoped it would. If I get the chance, I'd definitely like to try this design again, as I really liked my initial drawing/plan. If I could do this project again, I would either take more time carving the design, or choose a simpler design.
